A number of Control Room Technician positions exist across both Block 18 and Block 31 Operations organisation forming an exciting opportunity in a growing area for highly motivated individuals with strong coaching mentoring and interpersonal skills, as well as a solid foundation and experience in the Production discipline. The roles will be rotational working Offshore Angola with rotations up to a 4 week on and 4 week off cycle. Currently the Angola Operations team is over 500 people strong, consisting of a diverse group of professionals covering more than 20 different nationalities. The ability to work in a diverse and multinational environment will be a key attribute of the successful candidates. The posts represent opportunities to gain involvement/experience on very complex FPSO’s with extensive subsea Operations in a rapidly developing area within BP. The key focus for both FPSO’s will be to continue to deliver both core operations and safety requirements, as well as the development and mentoring of less experienced team members. In Block 18, the FPSO “Greater Plutonio” is BP’s first Operating Asset in Angola currently producing 180 thousand barrels/day of oil and 300 million cubic feet of gas/day in 1400m of water. In Block 31, the FPSO “PSVM” is BP’s second Operating Asset in Angola currently producing 170 thousand barrel/day of oil and 120 million cubic feet of gas/day in up to 2500m of water. | |
Maintain HSE compliance at all stages of the work scope. Implement all relevant policies and procedures as defined within the Local Operations Management System. Operate the process and utilities plant within safe operating envelope and to approved procedures . Monitor compliance with WCC (Work control certificate) requirements for CCR (Central Control Room) interface during equipment maintenance, including fire and gas system monitoring and control of inhibits and overrides. Review, upkeep, utilization and updating of operations procedures, drawings and technical information. Member of Emergency Response team as CCR team member. Act as a Process Isolating Authority as required. Assist in the development, mentoring of less experienced Control Room Technicians. Participate in task base risk assessments and provide technical input (Production) where necessary. Respond to equipment failures and ensure work is executed in line with Control of Work Standard. Assist in implementation of the Offshore Technical Integrity strategy through good management of equipment performance and degradation, notification and action. | |

The Driller - Saudi Arabia is an integral member of the Middle East team, reporting to the Rig Manager - Saudi Arabia.
Position Summary:
The Driller is responsible for operating and monitoring all drilling systems and equipment, supervising all drill crew work activities and completing appropriate drilling documentation to the satisfaction of the client, Company management in compliance with applicable policies and regulations. The Driller - Saudi Arabia will need to maintain the cost efficiency of the operation and actively participate in the development of personnel.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Raising and lowering the drill stem.
Lowering casing into the hole.
Making connection on drill stem and casing.
Controlling mud (or slush) pumps.
Controlling rotary table speed.
Control Top Drive and adjust the weight on the bit.
Rig Move - assist Rig Manager in the spotting of the rig.
The weight on the bit is maintained by the automatic Driller at an amount selected by the Driller. By watching the weight indicator closely, adjustments can be made as conditions require.
The driller must become familiar with the BOP system and must ascertain the operating position of the BOP's when coming on shift.
The Driller adjusts the mud pumps to maintain the proper circulation rate so that the drilling fluid will cool and lubricate the bit and remove the bit cuttings from the hole.
The Driller runs, or assists in running, special tools into the hold for the purpose of logging, testing, coring or fishing for bits, bit cones, or other portions of the drill stem lost in the hole. Specialists and/or Service Company Personnel are normally available to help in these procedures.
The Driller ensures that the Crew is training in the optimum safe performance of their duties and properly takes care of the personnel protective and mechanical equipment by conducting on the job training.
Although the Driller's basic duties are to operate and supervise the Crew in the operation of the rig, paperwork is a very important function of the Driller on each tour. The following paperwork is the responsibility of the Driller:
o Ensure the tour sheet is filled out completely and correctly each tour.
o Ensure each Crew Member's name, relevant personal information, and hours worked appear on the tour sheet for each tour worked.
o Have each member initial tour after each shift.
o Ensure all new employees receive a proper orientation.
o Ensure all required incident forms are filled out when an incident occurs.
o Ensure all required posters are on bulletin board in the doghouse.
o Ensure weekly / daily safety meetings and rig inspections are conducted and reports are completed and given to Rig Manager.
o Report all Incident/Near Miss to Rig Manager immediately.
o Complete Employee/Change Warning Notices when required and forward to Rig Manager.
The Driller is responsible for conducting the following drills:

The Driller is responsible for implementing fire-fighting procedures at the rig and ensuring personnel at camp facilities are aware of procedures at camp.
The Driller is responsible for the posting of:
o Company lease entry signs
o Emergency response plans for the rig and camp
o Camp and rig layout plans, indicating the locations of fire extinguishers, breathing apparatus and other safety equipment as per Rig Manager and Client Representative.
The Driller must help organize Rig Crews for moving and setting up the rig and camp.
The Driller must maintain close liaison with the Rig Manager, Personnel Manager and Crews regarding future work.
